Why is it called “marijuana”?

Marijuana is a derogatory term for cannabis made popular by the “fake news” promulgated by out of control federal bureaucrats and the “yellow journalists” in the 1930’s. Cannabis had been part of the American Pharmacopeia since the 1850’s and was one of the most widely use medicines in the late 19 th century. The Head of the Bureau of Narcotics (former known as the Bureau of Alcohol) – Harry J. Anslinger used fear and racism to create a fake news “crises” in a bureaucratic power grab by the Federal Government to steal regulatory rights from the States. They had to rename the drug to accomplish this act – against the advice of the American Medical Association.
